Frequently asked questions

What people ask before deciding

We answer the questions that stall a decision: how it works, what it captures, what the dashboard shows, what we do with your data, and why 30 days are enough to try it. No fine print.

How it works

The card, the tap, and what happens next

Let's start with the concrete: what DataTouch is and what happens in the seconds after a first contact.

What is DataTouch and how does a smart NFC card work?+
DataTouch is a physical NFC card connected to a digital profile and a dashboard with CRM and commercial intelligence. When someone taps their phone to your card, your professional profile opens — no app required. In parallel, we log the interaction with source, approximate city, and intent. That information feeds your pipeline so you know who to contact first and why.
Does the person receiving my card need to install any app?+
No. DataTouch works with iPhone and Android's native NFC reader. Your contact just taps their phone and your profile opens in the device's browser: no downloads, no signups, no friction. That absence of barriers is why post-contact conversion is radically higher than with paper cards.
Does it work with all modern phones (iPhone and Android)?+
Yes. Every iPhone from model 7 onward (iOS 11+) and practically every Android released since 2014 reads NFC natively. If for some reason a phone doesn't have active NFC, the card includes a backup QR code on the reverse, so conversion never hangs on the other side's hardware.

What sets it apart

Why it isn't just another NFC card

A standard NFC card opens a link. DataTouch turns the tap into actionable data. We make that distinction explicit here.

What's the difference between DataTouch and a standard NFC card?+
A standard NFC card ends when the link opens. DataTouch starts there: it logs the tap, identifies whether it came from the physical NFC or a digital link, geolocates the approximate city by IP, and delivers the interaction to a pipeline with a recommended next step. The difference is in understanding what happens after the first contact, not just starting it.
How does DataTouch differ from a traditional CRM like HubSpot or Salesforce?+
HubSpot and Salesforce expect you to capture every lead manually. DataTouch already captured the lead at the moment of tap, delivered it to the pipeline with context, and intelligently prioritizes who's closest to closing. If you already use a traditional CRM, DataTouch feeds it with interaction data a classic CRM would never see; if you're just starting out, DataTouch already is your complete CRM.
What professionals or businesses does DataTouch work best for?+
It works best for professionals and teams where the first contact defines the sale: B2B sales, consulting, real estate, events, photography, salons, lawyers, private practice doctors, creative agencies. If your business depends on people remembering you and reaching out after meeting you, DataTouch turns that moment into measurable pipeline.

The dashboard

What you see when you open the panel

This is the part an Excel sheet or a list of leads can't give you: the context that turns every tap into a decision.

What information does DataTouch capture in each interaction?+
Each tap logs timestamp, device (without identifying the user), approximate city or region via IP geolocation, contact source (physical NFC vs. digital link), and the sections of your profile that drew the most interest. We never access contacts, exact GPS location, or personal data of the visitor.
What does the dashboard show that an Excel sheet or a basic CRM doesn't?+
Real-time pipeline, opportunity map by city, channel conversion, leads ready to close, and recommended next step. Each widget is designed to answer a concrete sales question: what's working? who do I call first today? where is it worth concentrating effort this quarter? We don't give you more data — we give you the answers.
Can I export my data to Excel or another tool?+
Yes, anytime and from any module: interactions, leads, metrics, conversions. Export to CSV or Excel with one click. Your data is yours, lives with you, and never gets locked behind a higher plan or a support team.

Privacy & security

Your data, your contacts' data, and nothing else

No fine print here. The rule is simple: the least data that helps you sell more.

Is my data and my contacts' data safe?+
Yes. The infrastructure applies modern best practices: encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest, PBKDF2-SHA256 hashing for credentials, scheduled-expiration authentication, and multi-tenant isolation at the database level. We follow the minimum-data-necessary principle: we only collect what actually helps you close more sales.
Does DataTouch share my information with third parties?+
Never. Your contacts, leads, and metrics are yours. We don't sell them, share them to train models, or use them for advertising. We only process essential technical services (transactional email via SendGrid, IP geolocation via ipinfo.io, payments via Wompi) under formal data-processing agreements.
Can my visitors see my location or sensitive information?+
No. Geolocation is only at the city or approximate-region level, and only visible to you in your dashboard, never to the visitor. Your public profile shows exactly what you choose to publish: name, role, social networks, and the links you select. Nothing more, nothing less.

Onboarding & operation

How long setup takes and what happens if something breaks

If the tool is complicated, it doesn't get used. That's why this section matters.

Is it complicated to set up my card and dashboard?+
No. Average onboarding takes under 8 minutes: you receive the card, scan the activation QR, complete your profile, and start capturing interactions. The dashboard fills itself with every tap: no manual data import, no complex pipeline setup, no weeks of training for your team.
What happens if I lose my NFC card or it gets stolen?+
Your profile stays active and your dashboard intact: the card is just the physical reader for the profile. Report the loss from your panel and we'll send you a new card linked to the same profile; optionally, you can deactivate the lost card so it won't open your profile if someone else finds it.
Can I change my information without reprinting the card?+
Yes — this is the most useful difference from a paper card. Your NFC card points to a digital profile you can edit whenever you want. Change your role, photo, social networks, links, or description from the panel, and the next tap already shows the new version. The card is forever; the content lives with you.

Commercial

Trial, plans, and cancellation

No sales software should ask for your faith. That's why we built it so you decide with evidence.

Can I try DataTouch before buying?+
Yes. Every plan includes a 30-day trial with full access to Pro plan features: real-time pipeline, BI by city, high-intent signals, and channel conversion. We don't ask for a credit card, and you can cancel in one click if you don't find concrete value that month.
Is there a long-term contract, or can I cancel anytime?+
There's no lock-in contract. Pay month-to-month (or annual with a discount) and cancel from your panel whenever you want. Your data stays available for export for 90 days after cancellation. The only commitment is for DataTouch to prove its value to you every month.
How much does it cost and what's included in each plan?+
Three plans designed by stage: Starter to get started, Pro to convert, Enterprise to scale. All include your NFC card, public profile, and interaction capture. The difference between plans is the depth of commercial intelligence. Full details for each plan are on the plans and pricing page.
